Tools!

Today I went to the grocery store to buy lots of food before my son comes home tomorrow. It is sooo nice weather here right now so I got spring feeling and thought I should treat myself something that I have long wanted, so after I had bought lots of food, I went off to another place and went and looked in the shops. I found a multi-tool that I bought. It allows you to cut, polish, sand, engrave, drill etc.. It will really come in handy now =) Then I went to a second hand store. As soon as I came in I saw two pasta machines. I walked around a bit but knew I had to buy one. I have tried to find a cheap pasta machine on tradera and have bid but it has always been very expensive. But this was not expensive at all =) Now I can finally do different stuff with clay that I have wanted to try to do. Then I took the opportunity to buy cheap hair dye at another store too =) I'm so happy for what I bought! Immediately when I got home so I tested the multitool and I´m so happy about it! I made some plates with pasta machine. I'll post a picture of what I bought last week as well.

The multitool on the stand

The pasta machine

This is a table lamp that I need because I always photograph my things when it´s night and so bad lighting, this will make it better =) I bought sissors, clay and sculpting tools, yarn, fake fur, and "round sticks"

A mini horse

I got sooo inspired by the cute fury animals on http://www.kerripajutee.com and http://paizleypawz.com, so I decided to buy some materials so that I could make some cats. I tried to make a cat but it was too small, so today when I sat down and did things for the children's room, I decided that I would try to do a little toy horse with flocking. This is the result! It have fur over the hole body but the color underneath shined through. I was pretty happy with it considering I thought it would be very difficult but it still became kind of like I had imagined. =) Either this will be one of those in which the child can pull behind or I will just keep it like this.

Shelves and a bed

I've done a few shelves and a little bed for the children´s room that I'm doing right now.
Here's how it looks right now.
I'll post more pictures later when I have done more things to the room.

Books

I have made books for the children's room that I am doing right now.
I made Alfons Åberg (Alfie Atkins) books, Pippi Långstrump (Pippi Longstocking), Barbapapa, Nicke Nyfiken (Curious George), Pettson och Findus, Karius and Baktus and a few more.
I found the front pages of each book, did them smaller, made the backsides and wrote the description of the books and made a barcode on each book.
Then printed the pictures and glued them on pieces of cardboard.

new miniatures

This is our family's new miniature family members =)
Today this catmother and her four kittens came to us. They needed a home immediately and I had planned to get a cat for a while, so now when someone really needs my help, it wasn´t a  hard decision.
The babies are only 2 days old.
Welcome to us, I will do everything to make you feel at home!

A box

Yesterday I went to Lagerhaus and bought a box that I thought would fit well as roombox. I used foam board before. But I think it´s so boring to do the floors, and it is so ugly with white foamboard flooring.
So now, I thought it might be fun to make room and don´t have to think about the boring moments. I´m not sure if I should cut out windows or cover the holes. We'll see how it goes.
Now I'll start looking for decorating inspiration. YEY =)  This will be a children's room =)

Frustrations

Blah, when things do not turn out as planned, I just want to throw everything out and start over with something completely different.
I get so frustrated when I see that it's not right and I do not want to do something new before it's fixed or removed.
Often, I have built an entire room, but then just took out everything and everyone wonders where things had gone. I easily become restless and need new projects if the old ones are not as they "should". I am a perfectionist. I have very high standards for myself and believe that I can do everything the first time I try it. Usually it will be as I thought, but if it is not so, then I get really frustrated.
My "book room" will certainly not be as I planned, so I put the project down until I can start over again ...

Now I want to make a children's room instead. I wonder if the neighbors get mad if I start my loud printer in the middle of the night ... I'll print some books then I get in a good mood again =)

Hehe I'm an Aries, it is in my nature to be this stubborn. ;)

have to sleep on it...

I´ve been glueing the "artwork" to the ceiling, but it didn´t come out the way that I had pictured it in my head, so I´m a little dissapointed. I don´t know what to do with it, if I shall work on it some more to improve it or if I should get rid of it.. hmm... I have to sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow... The room is far from finnished.

Cakes

I have had many hobbies and interests over the years.
When my son was little, I had cake decoration as an interest and took every opportunity to make a new cake. It was an expensive hobby and I liked actually only to decorate the cakes, not make the contents or eat them. But to decorate and come up with new ideas is really fun.
The sad thing to have such a hobby was that every creations were eaten, and if I had forgotten to take pictures of the cake, there was nothing left at all.

But now that I have miniatures as a hobby, I realized that I can still keep my interest for decorating cakes, but in miniature! Then I can save the cakes, and I dont have to think about the filling to taste good. =) So now I'll buy some fimo and make new cake creations.

Here are some of the cakes I have made in real size:

These cakes I made for my son's christening:
